SAH pathophysiology includes blood-brain barrier (BBB) disruption. Gene expression changes at the endothelial cell level may provide insight into BBB pathophysiology. We used microarray gene expression data comparing freshly isolated brain endothelial cells isolated from Sham or SAH mice. 4 sham mice (burr hole and no blood injection) vs. 4 SAH mice (burr hole and 80 microL prechiasmatic blood injection); mouse brain CD45-CD31+ endothelial cells isolated at the 24h time-point after SAH/sham induction using magnetic-beads with immediate RNA extraction; RNA amplified with Ovation Pico WTA System V2 and then hybridized to Affymetrix Mouse Gene 2.0 ST Arrays; intensities normalized using robust multi-array average (RMA) algorithm.
