This copy, which contains many additions on the margin and also corrections in red ink, has no date, but seems, like the previous one, made in the author’s lifetime, as there are many pages left blank for further insertion; in a note on fol. 1a occurs the date A.H. 1094 (A.D. 1683).

Contents:

1.A preface in prose by Mîr Muḥammad Bâḳir ‘alawî of Shîrâz, who may be identical with one of the poets of the name Bâḳir mentioned in No. 1535 above, on fol. 1b, beginning:آرايش جمال شاهد كلام بزيور حمد صانعيست الخ .

2.Ḳaṣîdas, incomplete at the end and followed by a tarji’band, likewise incomplete, on fol. 4d, beginning:

اگر جمال پرى روى من ببيند حور

شود ز غايت انصاف معترف بقصور

agreeing with the initial ḳaṣîdah in Ṣprenger’s first copy; it is not found in the preceding copy; in fact only a small number of ḳaṣîdas are identical in both, for instance, fol. 7b here corresponds to fol. 5a in the preceding copy, fol. 10a here to fol. 6b there, etc.

3.Muḳaṭṭa’ât, on fol. 33b, beginning :

اى آصف زمان وارسطوى جم نشان

بر درگه تو قامت گردون خميده باد

4.Tarjî’band-i-Sâḳînâma (ترجيعبند ساقى نامه), on fol. 37b, beginning: اى باده كشان مژده كه ايّام بهارست الخ.

5.Marthiyyah or elegy on the death of the Imâm Ḥusain bin ‘Alî, on fol. 39b, beginning: آنچه شورست الخ.

6. Sâḳînâma (ساقی نامه), on fol. 43b, beginning:

چگويم زوصف شراب قدح – نبيند زوال آفتاب قدح

The initial bait here is the third in the same sâḳînâma, on fol. 43b in the preceding copy, except that there زفيض is substituted for زوصف in the first hemistich.

7.Ghazals, in alphabetical order, on fol. 68b, beginning as in the preceding copy.

8.Incomplete ghazals (غزلهاى ناتمام), on fol.137b, a collection similar to that in No. 8 of the preceding copy, but greatly differing in contents; here again only a few pieces are identical in both copies (for instance , fol. 141a, l. 5, here corresponds to fol. 158b, l. 4); beginning: خموشى ياد ده اهل سخن را الخ.

9.Maṭla’iyyât(مطلعيّات), on fol.152b, beginning:

زاسباب تعلّق بى تعلّق را چه نقصانست

ببر براهن از فانوس دارد شمع و عريانست

10.Fardiyyât, on fol. 155b, beginning: نشد جز خود شناسى حاصل ما از خداجوئى الخ.

11.Rubâ’iyyât, on fol. 158b, in alphabetical order, beginning, as in the preceding copy, with the slight modification of دست رسا for ناله رسا at the end of the second hemistich.
