资源简介:
This collection consists of images, geophysics and site record data from a geophysical survey by South West Archaeology Ltd. Work related to a residential development on land off Bells Close, Chawleigh, Mid Devon, Devon and occurred in January 2019.The geophysical survey identified five linear anomalies, two of which were associated with probable post medieval or later field boundaries and three of which were very ephemeral and were clearly orientated with the same field system. The geophysical survey also identified nine discrete ovoid anomalies that were indicative of undated cut features such as pits or tree throws as well as possible burning events and magnetic debris. The site inspection indicated that modern ploughing will have truncated any archaeological resource. The proposed development would have no impact on the majority of nearby designated heritage assets and it would have a neutral to negligible impact on the Grade I Listed Church of St James and the Scheduled Stone Barton Castle.
