Changes in fungal community in soils undergoing various agricultural treatments in Alberta

In this study, we examined the correlation between farming practices, soil fungal communities and soil properties in Alberta agricultural lands. We aimed to address the potential of fungal community structure to act as a soil health indicator via high-throughput sequencing of the ITS2 region of fungal communities from surface soils. The long-term outcomes of this project will help to establish a thoroughly-integratedframework to evaluate soil health in agricultural lands in Alberta.
