Central African Republic - Data in Emergencies (DIEM) Monitoring System - Household Survey 2023

The FAO has developed a monitoring system in 26 food crisis countries to better understand the impacts of various shocks on agricultural livelihoods, food security and local value chains. The Monitoring System consists of primary data collected from households on a periodic basis (more or less every four months, depending on seasonality). FAO launched a household survey between February 3 and March 27, 2023 in the Central African Republic. Data was collected through a CATI survey in 17 prefectures: Bangui, Bamingui-Bangoran, Basse-Kotto, Haute-Kotto, Haut-Mbomou, Kémo, Lobaye, Mambéré-Kadeï, Mbomou, Nana-Mambéré, Nana-Gribizi, OmMbella-M'Poko, Ouaka, Ouham, Ouham-Pendé, Sangha-Mbaéré, and Vakaga. A total of 3,710 households were surveyed by telephone. The survey is representative at the prefectural level, and the sample design was developed with a margin of error of 8.5 percent.
