Targeted genomic sequencing of influenza A viruses in wetlands sediment from wild bird habitats

Custom hybridization probes were used to capture and enrich fragments of influenza A virus genomic material in RNA extracted from sediment specimens. Sediment specimens were collected from wetlands inhabited by wild bird carriers of diverse influenza A viruses.
