Identification and expression analysis of lncRNAs in medaka gonads

So far, a large number of lncRNAs have been detected in many animals such as humans, mice and zebrafish However, there is no report in the medaka gonads, so we chose medaka as the research object to explore the role of lncRNA in medaka's gonadal development and sex determination. In recent years, the functional research of lncRNA has focused on lncRNA as a competitor, such as lncRNAs as cis-acting elements and as molecular sponges to adsorb miRNAs. Therefore, we used high-throughput sequencing to obtain the lncRNA library of the testis and ovary of the medaka, verified the difference between male and female lncRNAs, and predicted the cis-regulated target genes of lncRNA. These works will provide a data basis to explore the lncRNA in medaka and reveal their role in gonadal development and sex determination.
