Images and Site Records from an Archaeological Evaluation at 330-336 London Road, High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, 2001

This collection comprises images and site records from an archaeological evaluation undertaken by Network Archaeology Ltd at 330-336 London Road, High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, 2001. The proposed development site is believed to be the location of Bowden Mill, a water mill with thirteenth century origins. There were two mills at the site from the eighteenth or nineteenth century until the late twentieth century. The evaluation successfully located buried remains of several post-medieval mill buildings and watercourses identified by the desk based assessment. The absence of any surviving medieval remains is probably due to the substantial post-medieval development of the site.
