This BioProject is meant to hold genetic barcodes for various animals, mostly marine, and mostly representing the early diverging clades Medusozoa, Porifera and Ctenophorea. Markers include various mitochondrial gene fragments (e.g., cox1, 16S, etc.) and ribosomal nuclear genes (e.g., small and large subunits of the ribosome, as well as internal transcribed spacers), with some complete mitochondrial genomes and ribosomal repeat regions associated with low-pass whole genome shotgun sequencing datasets.
