This project reports a kind of self-assembled phosphonated/phosphorylated peptides fibrils/filaments(LCPS) that can be mineralized, which is similar to the bone matrix. Except for retarding the transformation of amorphous calcium phosphate into hydroxyapatite (HAP), LCPS can also affect the mineralization related genes/pathways in MC3T3-E1 mouse pre-osteoblast cells, showing the capability of the studied materials to induce cell-mediated mineralization.
