资源简介:
These reports include detailed records of deaths, diseases, illnesses, treatments, special diets and other matters relating to the duties of the surgeon. The journals were used during the voyage mainly to remind the surgeon of previous treatments given to sick immigrants. Their two secondary functions were to record the consumption of medicinals placed under the surgeon's control; and to serve as evidence in any subsequent investigation into the surgeon's conduct. This series only relates to the following ships: Susan (1838); Clyde (1880); Peterborough (1882); Roslin Castle (1883); Cardigan Castle (1883); and Port Victor (1886). 1838, 1880, 1882-83, 1886 (4/4698.1-.6; microfilm copy SR Reel 2852). 6 vols. Note:This description is extracted from Concise Guide to the State Archives of New South Wales, 3rd Edition 2000.
