Gene expression profile on a single-cell level of myeloid cells isolated from dura mater, from control mice, and mice infected with group B streptococci

Macrophages and monocytes in dura play a central role in CNS defence against bacteria. Here, we wanted to examine heterogeneity and expression profiles of different myeloid populations in control and streptocicci infected dura. Overall design: Prior FACS, cells from individual control or infected mice were labelled using the 10X 3' CellPlex Kit Set A (PN-1000261) following manufacturer's recommendations. CD45+CD11b+ cell population was sorted. In total, 5-6 individual animals per group were pooled after FACS. For controls, around 10 750 cells were sorted per mouse (64 500 cells in total), and for infected mice, in average 11 600 cells were sorted per mouse (46 400 cells in total).
