Dataset for "De-aberration for transcranial photoacoustic computed tomography through an adult human skull"

This dataset contains the raw data associated with the manuscript "De-aberration for transcranial photoacoustic computed tomography (PACT) through an adult human skull," available on arXiv at https://arxiv.org/abs/2404.05937. The dataset contains top and bottom illumination PACT raw data for a representative phantom with and without the skull. It also contains a binary mask of the ex-vivo human skull used in the experiment. Dataset structure: The dataset is organized into the following directories: Top_illumination: ph_ws.mat: Phantom data with the skull (Top illumination, Laser firing time: 130 samples). ph_ns.mat: Phantom data without the skull (Top illumination, Laser firing time: 830 samples). Bottom_illumination: ph_ws.mat: Phantom data with the skull (Bottom illumination, Laser firing time: 100 samples). ph_ns.mat: Phantom data without the skull (Bottom illumination, Laser firing time: 100 samples). Skull_Mask: skull_mask.mat: A binary volume mask of the ex vivo skull used in the experiment. The x, y, and z grid coordinates are also included (unit: m). tx_coords.mat: Coordinates of the ultrasound transducers (unit: m). Usage notes: The data is saved as a 3D array of size 128 x 400 x 4096 (Ne x Na x Nt), where Ne is the number of elements in the arc array, Na is the number of the azimuthal scanning points (over 360 degrees), and Nt is the number of time samples.
