This donor NP-H10 was susceptible to EBV infection and produced a lytic infection as determined by Zebra and gp350 immunostaining. Overall design: Primary nasopharynx-derived epithelial cells were differentiated in ALI conditions and then infected with recombinant EBV (Akata strain). The recombinant EBV expresses the GFP marker gene inserted into the BXLF1 locus (PMID 11562531). Expression of EBV BamHI A RNA transcripts (BARTs) is retained (PMID 16611410).
