TatD is part of the E coli TatABCD operon with functions in protein secretion. E coli TatD is not involved in protein transport. E coli TatD could be involved in DNA degradation and/or protein quality control. C elegans TatD is involved in embryo development. P falciparum TatD could be involved in virulence. No data on mammalian TatD is published We used microarrays to analyze the gene expression changes induced by Tatd gene deletion in the heart ventricle and brain cortex of adult wild type (tatd+/+) and TatD-deficient (tatd-/-) mice. cardiac ventricles and brain cortex were obtained from 3 males and 3 females per genotype (tatd+/+, tatd-/-). Total RNA was extracted using the RNeasy Mini Kit (Qiagen) and retro-transcribed. The microarray plate used was the Mouse Clariom S HT array (Applied Biosystems, ThermoFisher, 902971).
