This proposal aims to investigate the pressure-induced 1D-to-2D structural phase transition in hybrid lead halide perovskites (LHPs). This transition has significant implications for the material's optoelectronic and spintronic properties, such as bandgap modulation and photoluminescence (PL) emission. We seek to employ high-pressure single-crystal X-ray diffraction (SCXRD) to resolve atomic positions, bonding changes and structural connectivity during this transition, providing insights into the phase transition mechanism and linking it to changes in material functionality.
