The GOSAT satellite is the world's first satellite specifically designed to monitor the spatial distribution of greenhouse gas concentrations from space. It is mainly equipped with two instruments: the Fourier Transform Spectrometer (FTS) and the Cloud and Aerosol Imager (CAI). The FTS is used for greenhouse gas detection, while the CAI synchronously collects cloud and aerosol information.
