Included for each mutant are the amino acid site(s) and the corresponding functional and/or binding region; the original codon and residue; the number of species that the residue is conserved across from the seven species (D. melanogaster, D. simulans, D. yakuba, D. santomea, D. teissieri, D. erecta, and D. eugracilis) multiple alignment of [38]; the alanine codon that replaced the original codon sequence; and the results of the fertility and nurse-cell-positive egg chamber experiments.
