This dataset contains raw 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing reads from bulk soil, rhizosphere soil, and dauciform root rhizosphere samples of Cladium jamaicense (sawgrass) collected in July 2024 from calcareous (marl) soils near Everglades National Park, Florida, USA. C. jamaicense produces specialized dauciform roots that release carboxylates to mobilize bound phosphorus in nutrient-limited environments, such as the extremely phosphorus-poor wetland soils of the Everglades.Genomic DNA was extracted using the DNeasy PowerSoil Kit (QIAGEN) following the manufacturer’s instructions. The 16S rRNA gene was amplified using the primer pair 341F-805R and sequenced on an Illumina NextSeq 2000 platform with a NextSeq 300 PE P1 flow cell at the North Carolina State University Genomic Sciences Laboratory. Raw paired-end Illumina reads generated by the sequencing facility are deposited in this submission.
