In this study we compare the transcriptome of the strain Dietzia sp. DQ12-45-1b grown in octacosane , hexadecane and glucose for the characterization distinct adaption mechanisms under different alkane substrates RNA-seq was used to compare Dietzia sp. DQ12-45-1b grown to mid log phase in the presence of either octacosane, hexadecane and glucose (control condition) as the carbon source. The genes differentially expressed in the pairwise comparisons were studied to reveal the distinct degradation mechanisms between octacosane and hexadecane .
