Effects of Crithidia infection and 5 ppm anabasine on consumption of sucrose solution and pollen in choice and no-choice experiments.

(A) In Host Preference Experiments, individual bees were given a choice between 30% sucrose solution with and without 5 ppm anabasine. The 24 h trial was conducted 7 d post-infection. (B) Consumption in microcolonies of Life History Experiment and (C) of individual bees in Pollen Deprivation Experiment under no-choice conditions. Consumption was measured over the entire experiment (up to 35 d for Life History Experiment, 7 d for Pollen Deprivation Experiment). Time was not a significant predictor of consumption in the Pollen Deprivation Experiment.
