In this study we performed viral metagenomic analysis of the blood virome in liver transplant recipients in multiple longitudinal samples collected before and after liver transplantation. Samples were enriched for intact viral particles and sequenced on a HiSeq 2000 Illumina platform. The virome dataset was analysed and associated with post-liver transplantation complication. Remarkably, the presence and abundance specific viruses were related to some specific complications. Therefore, the virome might have predictive clinical relevance in organ transplantation outcome.
