Data from an online experiment for XAI effects on trust and reliance within job shop scheduling

To test these hypotheses, we conducted a between-subjects experiment. In an interactive, scenario-based online survey each participant was tasked to make scheduling decisions of the established FJSS benchmarks after Hurink et al. (1994) and Lawrence (1984). We choose the instance LA02 for our study since its size (5 machines and 10 jobs, each with different operations) retains realism while keeping task length manageable (Doshi-Velez and Kim 2017).
