Morandi et al Spot Pattern and Association Strength of Female Giraffes

This dataset includes Excel files with data from 411 adult female Masai giraffes (G. tippelskirchi). Individual giraffe data were collected over 7 years (Jan 2012- Oct 2018) in the Tarangire Ecosystem of northern Tanzania using photographic capture-resight techniques. Spot pattern traits were measured on the photographs using ImageJ software. The files include: (1) membership in adult female communities and mixed-sex supercommunities ["Communities"]; (2) list of edge weights between dyads["gbi_edgelist"]; (3) individual data on spot traits ["SpotData"]; and (4) summary of spot trait data ["SpotDataSummary"]. AID2019 is the individual animal identification. SC is supercommunities. AFC is adult female communities. Other variables are explained in the main text.<br>
