Mesoamerican Reef Literature Review Results and Codebook

This data includes the code key and systematic literature review results for: "Lessons Learned for Transboundary Evidence-Based Coastal Marine Conservation: A 30-Year Perspective of the Mesoamerican Reef Ecoregion"<br>We conducted a systematic scientific literature review following PRISMA guidelines, utilizing searches in Web of Science and Scopus (Figure 2). English or Spanish publications were included if: (1) a peer-reviewed journal article, (2) focused entirely or partly on MAR geography, and (3) focused on the coastal marine environment. Keyword searches used the following terms: “mesoamerica*reef” OR “mesoamerica*barrier reef” OR “western caribbean sea” OR “arrecife mesoamericano” OR “sistema arrecifal mesoamericano” OR “caribe occidental”. All publications were reviewed in full and coded using a standardized codebook.
