This macro-genomic dataset was derived from microbial community samples from the initial, high temperature and putrefaction phases of the aerobic composting process. The compost feedstock was cow dung and corn stover and was fermented under controlled conditions.Sequencing was done using Meggie Bio [double-ended 350 bp]. The data revealed the taxonomic composition and functional potential of microbial populations involved in lignocellulose degradation, nitrogen cycling, and organic matter conversion during composting.The aim of this study is to illustrate the effect of high-temperature complex flora on key microorganisms and enzyme systems or gene systems involved in nitrogen conversion in aerobic composting. This dataset may provide a reference for research in the field of waste treatment, microbial ecology and bioremediation.
