The main goal of this study is the isolation and characterization of diarrhea-associated phages and their use in phage therapy. Bacteriophages will be isolated from sewage water samples against the respective standard propagating strains of Vibrio cholerae. The proposed research project will lead to the development of a phage therapy as an alternative to antibiotics which will be very helpful in prevention of generation of MDR strains as well as it will be helpful in treatment for a patient infected with drug resistance bacteria.
