On The Interactions Of Allylic Phosphines And Phosphine Oxides With n-Butyllithium

The thesis explores the reactivity of allylic diphenyl phosphines and phosphine oxides with the basic reagent n-butyllithium. The lithiated intermediates were explored and characterised to understand their structure. They were then reacted with aldehydes and ketones to explore the utility of such reactions.
