Non-myelinating glia in visceral organs have not been well characterized. It Is likekely they have uniqe functions in the organs in which they reside. This is interesting in immune organs such as the spleen in which glia ensheath nerves that come in close contact with immune cells. However, glia in the spleen have not been well characterized.
