The S1 figure includes the results of P-T pseudosection analysis of an anatectic granitoid sample at the northern margin of the Chottanagpur Gneiss Complex, Eastern India. The S2 figure is the BSE image of a petrographic thin section showing the textural relations in a mica schist sample. The S3 table consists of chemical compositions in monazites, and monazite spot ages (±2σ errors) in Ma from granitoids, anatectic gneisses and schist samples. The rock samples were collected in 2017 from areas around the town of Gaya, Bihar. Electron microprobe dating of monazites in the samples was done at the Department of Geology and Geophysics, IIT Kharagpur. The monazite dating protocol is outlined in detail in Prabhakar (2013) and Deshmukh et al. (2017). The data was generated to constrain the tectonics and timing of the accretion between the Gaya-Mahakoshal Belt and the Chottanagpur Gneiss Complex, eastern India.
