Transatlantic Remittance Networks Linking the Americas and Mount Lebanon: The Case of Ishak Ibrahim Tannous, 1908-1940

This dataset was prepared based on archival documents from the American University of Beirut Library Archives, Jafet Memorial Library, it documents the circulation of money and communication mediated by Ishak Ibrahim Tannous. This research was conducted as a part of my independent study in Spring 2026 under the supervision of Assistant Professor Kerem Tınaz. The dataset traces remittance, kinship, and migration networks connected to the Ottoman-Syrian diaspora in the early twentieth century. It relies on 53 letters and 8 empty envelopes, which are related to 22 migrants.
