Restoration and Improving Resilience of Flood Damaged Sections of Mary River Banks #2

Sections of the Mary River have been severely impacted by recent flood events, including rainfall received in the Mary River catchment from Cyclone Marcia. The second project team will continue the revegetation works on sites identified and prioritised during Project #1 (sites within 2.2 km of a 6.1 km section of the river where Gympie Regional Council controls the affected riverbank and post-planting works). This will include fencing of additional areas for protection against vehicular and pedestrian access. Project #2 will also undertake works in Project #1 sites including weed control and in-fill replanting if required. Propagation of planting stock will be included.
