Map of land cover for West Africa, adapted from ESA WorldCover 2021 for use in SARRA-O crop model

This raster map is adapted from the ESA WorldCover 10m 2021 v200 dataset (doi:10.5281/zenodo.7254221) for use in SARRA-O crop model. It describes 11 classes of land cover for West Africa, at a resolution of 0,0375° (approximatively 4km). It was obtained by performing raster alignment against the TAMSAT v3.1 precipitation product (https://www.tamsat.org.uk) and upscaling to 0.0375° (approximatively 4 km) of the original ESA WorldCover 10m resolution product. Mode was used as aggregation function, so that pixels in the obtained raster represent the main land cover class in the extent of the newly computed pixels.
