In order to further understand the microbiota associated with crabs inhabiting in hydrothermal vents, crab Austinograea sp. which collected between sites Desmas and Pacmas of the South China Sea was studied here. The microbial compositions attached to gill and intestine of Austinograea sp. and two shallow-water crab species, Eriocheir sinensis and Portunus trituberculatus, were compared by high throughput sequencing technology using 16s rRNA genes.
