Metagenomic Characterization of Placental Fluid From an Aborted Cow Suspected of Brucellosis

This metagenomic dataset was generated from placental fluid collected from a cow that experienced an abortion and tested positive on the Rose Bengal Plate Test (RBPT). Because RBPT is a rapid screening assay for Brucella antibodies, the sample was suspected to be associated with brucellosis. Metagenomic sequencing was performed to characterize the microbial community present in the placental fluid, identify potential abortifacient pathogens, and explore the overall microbial composition associated with the suspected Brucella infection.
