Evolutionary histories of breast cancer and related clones

We performed multi-sampling of cancer and clonally-related non-cancer lobules from surgically obtained specimens of breast tissues using laser-capture microdissection, followed by whole genome sequencing (WGS) to reconstruct the life history of cancer and related clones. We also established single cell derived organoids from normal mammary epithelia and evaluated the somatic mutations by WGS to estimate the mutation accumulation rate in normal cells, which enabled us to infer the timing of early driver events during cancer development.EGA study EGAS00001006282
