Carbonation kinetics in cementitious materials: a lab-on-a-chip approach

To help reduce carbon emissions, this research focused on enhancing a process called mineral carbonation, which converts carbon dioxide into stable minerals. The study employed advanced laboratory techniques and artificial intelligence to gain deeper insights into the underlying chemical reactions. It also tested additives such as amino acids to improve the efficiency of the process. These findings support the development of cleaner technologies for the cement industry and beyond, contributing to global efforts to combat climate change and achieve net-zero emissions.
