Cardiac chamber specific bulk RNA-sequencing of individuals with atrial fibrillation and sinus rhythm

Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most common type of heart arrhythmia. In this study, we sought to dissect chamber specificity of AF-associated transcriptional changes using bulk RNA-sequencing data from eight human hearts for which we had available tissue biopsies from both atria and left ventricle (LV). Human heart biopsies from left (LA) and right (RA) atria, as well as from LV, were obtained from three individuals with sinus rhythm and five patients with AF participating in the Dutch RACE V Study.
