The Cambridge Bitcoin Electricity Consumption Index (CBECI) is a database tracking the electricity consumption of the Bitcoin network, which was launched on July 18, 2010. This index uses a 7-day moving average to mitigate the impact of short-term hash rate fluctuations, providing historical data on the Bitcoin network's electricity demand, annual electricity consumption statistics, and mining hardware efficiency metrics. Additionally, CBECI offers geographical distribution data for Bitcoin mining and greenhouse gas emission indices, with all data updated every 24 hours.
