Mononucleosomal DNA (MNase digested DNA) from exponentially growing wild-type (972 h-) cells in EMM was generated as reported in Lantermann et al 2009 Methods. Sequencing libraries from MNase-digested DNA were prepared using the NEBNext® ChIP-Seq Library Prep Master Mix Set for Illumina® (E6240S). Pair-end 50 bp reads where obtained with an Illumina MiSeq sequencer. MNAse sequencing data was mapped using Bowtie2
