VPRS 887 Reports of Examinations

The Denominational Schools Board was established in 1848 and was responsible for the distribution of funds to denominational schools from an annual Parliamentary grant and a proportion of the Church and Schools Estates revenue.This series contains the records accumulated by the Board with respect to their accreditation of teachers. Most are on standard pro forma with some being hand-written. Subjects in which teachers were examined are listed with the grading given, the date and the Inspector's signature. For all teachers the name is given but for some there are details of their present appointment, details of age and marital status, testimonials and reports from an Inspector of Schools.
