We recruited three kindergartens in Changsha, China, by telephone through a convenience sample to conduct the questionnaire survey. In China, kindergartens are usually divided into three grades, with 3-4 years old being grade 1, 4-5 years old being grade 2, and 5-6 years old being grade 3. Each of the three kindergartens sampled had 3-4 classes in each grade. We randomly selected two classes in each grade in each kindergarten, and ended up recruiting a total of six first grade, six second grade, and six third grade classes, with a total of 560 children and their parents as subjects in this experiment. The children in this experiment were all aged between 3-6 years old and did not have any physical or psychological illness. Questionnaires were given to the parents of these children and a total of 1021 valid questionnaires were collected after eliminating 99 invalid questionnaires, including 478 questionnaires from fathers and 543 questionnaires from mothers.The Childhood Trauma Questionnaire (CTQ), the Parenting Sense of Competence Scale (PSOC), and the Early Childhood Attachment Scale were completed by 1021 parents of young children aged 3-6 years from China (478 fathers and 543 mothers, Mage = 35.29, SD = 4.802).
