收藏资源简介:
The Timurid period (14th–15th centuries) represents an important stage in the cultural and intellectual history of Central Asia. During this era, political expansion, diplomatic relations, and economic exchanges fostered interactions between different civilizations. As a result, the knowledge and use of foreign languages became increasingly significant, particularly in diplomatic and commercial contexts. This article examines the attention given to the study of foreign languages, especially European languages, during the Timurid period. Using historical sources and scholarly literature, the study analyzes how diplomatic missions, trade routes, and cultural exchanges contributed to the need for multilingual communication. The findings demonstrate that although Arabic, Persian, and Turkic languages dominated scholarly and administrative life, European languages also gained importance through diplomatic contacts and international trade. The article concludes that linguistic interaction during the Timurid era played a key role in strengthening intercultural communication and establishing Central Asia as a major center of political and cultural exchange.
