Gene expression study or Transcriptome of Agave amica

Tuberose (Agave amica) is an important ornamental plant with great economic importance. It is used as cut and loose flowers, and in addition, it has been used in the extraction of floral scent for the perfume industry. Despite its economic importance, only a few molecular studies have been conducted for the improvement of flower fragrance, flower colour, and flower type. To study the molecular mechanism, comparative transcriptomics of flower fragrance, flower colour, and flower type were initiated by de novo cDNA sequencing of contrasting cultivars of tuberose.
