We have identified an unidentified sub-population of astrocytes (Olig2-AS) in the mouse spinal cord that can be distinguished from other astrocyte populations by the expression of Olig2, a transcription factor currently recognized as a hallmark of oligodendrocytes (Ohayon et al., 2019 Glia). The present project aims at characterizing further this new sub-type of astrocytes and at elucidating their function in the physiological CNS by performing a RNA-seq.
