Habitat mapping data of Schleswig-Holstein, Hamburg, and Baden-Württemberg

This dataset contains biodiversity and geospatial data of plants and habitat types from the habitat mapping programs of the federal states of Schleswig-Holstein (SH), Hamburg (HH), and Baden-Württemberg (BW) from 1977 until 2022. The dataset is associated with a study analysing temporal plant species trends in the three states. All protected habitats in the states have digitized polygons available, including information on habitat types and presence of plant species. Many habitats have been remapped, but due to restrictions from the data owners (federal state agencies), the data presented here for BW exclude polygons from previous mappings (up until 2004) for the open land, while for forests in BW, all polygons are included.
