Application of Reinforced U-shaped Suture Technique in Laparoscopic Distal Pancreatectomy: An Analysis of 165 Consecutive Cases

The collected data covered three aspects: preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative. Preoperative data included age, gender, body mass index (BMI), smoking history, drinking history, past medical history (e.g., diabetes and hypertension), American Society of Anesthesiology (ASA) classification, pancreatic duct diameter (main pancreatic duct, MPD; a diameter ≥ 3.00 mm was defined as pancreatic duct dilatation [18]) and pancreatic texture. Intraoperative data encompassed intraoperative blood loss and spleen preservation status. Postoperative data involved amylase levels in abdominal drainage fluid on postoperative day 3 and beyond, postoperative treatment and nursing measures, as well as the occurrence, type, and severity of postoperative complications (graded by the Clavien-Dindo classification system), total hospital stay, postoperative hospital stay, total hospitalization cost, 30-day readmission rate, and 30-day mortality.
