This article provides a deep scientific analysis of the pedagogical and psychological foundations of developing a reading culture in primary school students. Reading culture is interpreted as an important factor in the intellectual, spiritual and moral development of a child. In the conditions of a modern information society, the formation of reading skills in students, increasing interest in books and developing a culture of independent reading are considered urgent pedagogical problems. The article scientifically covers the impact of reading culture on students' thinking, speech, creative thinking and spiritual outlook.
