Exploring young people's visual perceptions of nature on urban school grounds in Austria and Germany

This dataset results from a visitor-employed photography walk conducted with 58 high school students on two urban school grounds in Germany and Austria in March 2024. The aim of the walk was to explore how young people aged 14 to 16 visually perceive nature in this particular environment and how these perceptions reflect their understanding of nature itself. Photographs and corresponding logbook entries were collected. A quantitative questionnaire accompanied the walk to gain additional insights into how the participants spend time in nature in their daily lives and their attitudes toward it.
