Ambient Sound Levels in the Gulf of Mexico Two Weeks Before and After Tropical Storms Barry, Cristobal, and Marco
收藏资源简介:
Data were collected in collaboration with the U.S. Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) to characterize soundscapes in the Mississippi Canyon and surrounding areas of the northeastern GoMex in three deployments from 2019-2021 using Rockhopper acoustic recording units. Five units continuously monitored the underwater soundscape at a 197 kHz sampling rate and 24-bit resolution (true dynamic range: 107 dB) from May 6, 2019 to June 20, 2020 (Deployment 03 & 04). Two units were redeployed between June 21, 2020 and June 1, 2021 (Deployment 05; sites S06 and S07) and recorded at a 50% duty cycle, switching on and off every 15 minutes. The metadata contain site names, deployment numbers, recording unit coordinates in decimal degrees, water depth, and recording start dates and dates of last recovered recordings. These selected data represent ambient sound levels for two weeks before, the time during, and two weeks after Tropical Storms Barry, Cristobal, and Marco in the Gulf of Mexico. The csv files contain 1-minute resolution Hybrid-Millidecade sound level measurements from 0-98.5 kHz. Frequencies are listed across the top row. Each file represents one day and is named with the deployment ID and date and organized into folders named with each Rockhopper's unique ID. File Organization: Main > Storm Name > Recording Unit Unique ID > Daily Files
